Ducks

I'm getting my ducks in a row.

Sat down with Dad last week and went through the painful process of figuring out exactly how in debt I am from the Masters program and how deep in $#@&** I'll be when done with the PhD in another three years. That wasn't pleasant - I mean Dad was, the outcome wasn't. I also had to research costs for expenditures this summer in preparation for leaving, doctor's appt's and new glasses, etc. Anyway, that fire is on a slow burn for right now.

I've also spent some time working through all the stupid paperwork from my federal school loans that have been sold, and sold, and sold again until no one seems to have a record of any of my payments. That was definitely not pleasant. And I have to apply for more money for 2010-2011. Yuck but it must be done to keep me in peanut butter sandwiches for the year.

I've begun to get answers from the university on financial aid, ie, payments, where to send grants and other little annoying i's and t's that have to be crossed and dotted.

Today, however, was a great DUCK - my housing contract came through and it was the building I was hoping for - tall with a possible view of the ocean and cathedral ruins. Hopefully I'll have a room on the top floor looking north/west. YEAH and Quack!
