Janis van Dusen

Janis van Dusen passed away early this morning. She was an elderly lady in my ward. She was also the first person who made me feel welcome and wanted when I moved to Claremont. It was several weeks before I realized she was legally blind but that never stopped her from holding half of the hymnal or greeting me when she recognized my voice. She was my back bench buddy for almost a year. I will miss her greatly but I will always try to emulate her quiet dignity and influence from here on out.
