Our weekend in Cyprus became a whole note of nothing and wasn't that wonderful!
After a rather full week of driving all over the island chasing ruins, mosaics, saints and souvenirs we decided to take a day off - which turned into two straight day off days.
Saturday I went out on my own. Walked down to the harbor and read in the sun along the breakwater. Eventually I walked back along the outer shore (aka the long way). In the afternoon I walked over to an 'English themed' restaurant that looks like Mary Poppins should be the hostess. I spent hours catching up on e-mail and topping off the 'internet access' tank while downing a scone and discussing the best 'American' brownie recipe with the waitress Katrina from China!
Kathleen eventually joined me and we headed off to the grocery store to purchase some dinner/lunch type items and then the DVD rental place for some evening entertainment as the steady TV broadcast of Russian language programs and football just isn't cutting it!
Sunday I couldn't find church so I spent the bulk of the day curled up under a blanket (rain again) reading a mystery novel - wasn't the best but the day was fun!
