Forgot to post this on Sunday -
Not so many radio stations to choose from here but I found one that plays mostly recognizable stuff so I keep my clock radio/alarm tuned to BBC Radio 2 for my morning wake up calls. Sunday morning turned out to be bit schizophrenic.
The alarm went off at 7:30am with a song by the 80's all girl pop group The Bangles. While not really my style it wasn't bad and it was familiar. While visions of shoulder pads, frizzy hair, stretch pants and scrunchies were dancing along in my head the follow up song was introduced: a gospel favorite from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Which in turn was followed up by a ballad belted out by Queen - led by the flamboyant Freddie Mercury.
By the time my head had wrapped itself around the abrupt musical course corrections getting out of bed was a reason to relax. I guess that's a vote in favor of the on-air programming.
