Water pressure, Lowery's season salt, twist ties:
I believe the low pressure is to save water but the fact that it takes four times as long to get a 1/4 of the soap and conditioner out of my thick hair doesn't seem to be saving anything - except the amount of soap and conditioner I actually use. At this rate of consumption I believe the two large bottles I brought should last me well into my second year! Don't get me started on the size of the showers - for a claustrophobic that can be problematic - I'll just say I have an incentive to not gaining any weight if I want to continue to shower.
I was gifted a George Forman Grill on Sunday from one of the ladies at church - now I can't wait to cook hamburgers and chicken! Lowery's season salt just makes hamburgers and/or chicken taste better. One shake and you've got all the flavor. I miss the (US) efficiency of it all.
Twist ties (0r the newer plastic tabs) - you know those annoying little pieces of wire surrounded by small paper that keep the bread bags closed? You never throw them away because they get reused to keep the sunflower seeds from spilling all over the cupboard or the frozen peas from flooding the bottom of the freezer... Yeah, they don't have those here. The bread bags have a sticky closer that doesn't work again after you open the bag the first time.
While you can't increase the water pressure and I wouldn't ask anyone to send Lowery's season salt I would love an envelope or two full of any twist ties you find in the bottom of your kitchen junk drawer! Let me know if you need my snail mail address. My bread, sunflower seeds and peas thank you for your attention to this post!
