Working from Home is a misnomer:
Yesterday, Friday, it was a wee bit warmer but we had rain and gale force winds (91km/h) so I decided not to go into the office. I had my computer, a couple of books and some translation I could do without leaving the dorm so I was all set.
Got up at the regular time, showered and got ready. So far so good. By 9am I was settled on my small sofa with my translation materials and got started...
I was sound asleep by 9:20am.
When I woke up I decided to change tactics. If I couldn't keep myself awake translating I'd read the first assignment for the class I'm really looking forward to which starts on Wednesday. I got 30 pages done but the last 10 were an absolute slog. I decided an official nap might help jump start me so I laid down. TWO HOURS later I was still drowsy and I'd missed lunch.
By the time I got my act back together and eaten something I decided it just wasn't going to work so I packed it in and watched television until just before 6pm when I walked down to the movie theatre to meet Cathy. We saw "Morning Glory."
Remedy for Eternal Truth #27: don't try to fool yourself - take the day off but make up for it. Saturday, Feb 5th and I'm in the office and ready to translate...

My theory: it was the couch. If I'm "work reading" like scripture study or lesson preparation, I have to be sitting upright at the kitchen table or a desk. No couch or bed, or I'm toast.
