Today - Thursday, 8 Sept - I finally feel like I got back in the academic saddle.
It's not that I haven't been working since I got back two weeks ago. I have... just not on my thesis. I've been running around organizing all the upcoming social events for the Divinity Post Grads and working on my syllabus for Biblical Hebrew.
I put the syllabus (and it's accompanying quizzes) to bed on Tuesday. Yesterday Kathleen and I headed down to Edinburgh to see a show - Legally Blonde - the Musical. (YES, it's been turned into a musical - and a very successful one at that!) I really wish I'd remembered to take my camera as Kathleen was all dressed up in pink and purple with shiny pink sparkle nail polish. I, unfortunately, have not been able to truely unpack just yet so I went in a conservative blue sweater (jumper) and khaki pants. Such a conformer!
This morning I got the last of the calendar information together and sent out the first PostGrad Committee Weekly News Blast. Hopefully the formatting will hold. We'll see tomorrow how it goes. Then I turned my attention to the 21 pages of notes I collected on Genesis 16 during my stay at the Claremont School of Theologies Library this summer.
My first pass on the material has at least gotten the quotes into categories for discussion but within those buckets everything is jumbled up - Genesis 16 Chop Suey if you will. It's now 4:30pm and my shoulder blades have recently fused together so I think I'll quit for the day and tackle the individual sections starting tomorrow.
