Hurricane, visa and time....
Hurricane Earl is barrelling up the East Coast - scheduled to hit late Friday night/early Saturday when I'm supposed to be driving up to Maine to visit my sister, LL Beans, antique shops and get my hair cut. Wind speed and directions might change the plans a bit.
Visa application is in - in New York City - and out of my control. I went to Boston last week to have my 'biometric information' collected which turned out to be electronic fingerprints and an iris scan (with my glasses on which makes me wonder about the effectiveness of facial recognition systems). Then I had to send all kinds of original documents, applications and my precious passport off to a faceless government agency and then wait...
which brings us to TIME - I've got 19 days left before I am hoping (visa processing necessary) to leave for Scotland. Please keep all fingers, toes and limbs crossed for me - I've got the intestines and stomach crossed already and I'm having very vivid 'left behind' dreams so I've got the stress covered from this end! Thanks!
