But before we get there I had another meander. And stumbled across the chapel attached to the Castle. (didn't go in the castle because there were huge school groups in front of me and a fee.) The door to the chapel was just open and so I waltzed in - and my jaw dropped.
Choir stalls and stained glass. Is there any better combination?
Thanks to the sun all was illuminated.
And I was the only one in there most of the time.
Why is it carved cherubs always look either: angry, scared, like they are holding their breath or trying to catch their breath?
