My friend Curt is a partner in a big law firm in LA. He works for a very demanding client who seems to think that 24/7 is always the appropriate time to contact his lawyer. Curt had been billing so many hours that the firm told him he had to take two months off before he died at his desk.
I suggested he come to Ireland and do some genealogy which he loves to do. My thinking was he would rent a house or something similar for the two months and just roam the country side looking for ancestor connections... Not so!
One week off in New York, one week in Sofia, Bulgaria, a weekend visiting me in Scotland, two days with me in Belfast (day one) and Dublin (day two) then on to county Cork, then two weeks in Germany, then back to Dallas for a week before returning to work. The man does NOT know how to relax!
But who cares! We had a great few days together and he got me to Ireland for the first time!
Oh, and PS: I have no pictures of either myself or Curt or us together. Completely forgot in Edinburgh due to fog; Belfast was a blur and by the time I remembered in Dublin Curt had run for the train to Cork. I know he took a picture of me at Edinburgh Castle and I took one of him with his camera but for some reason we didn't think to ask someone to get one of us together with my camera. Oh, well...
