It's Sunday morning. Due to the weather church has been cancelled so I'm at my desk hugging a mug of tea and trying to catch up on a few posts.
The ride home last night after the ball was a bit tricky but sooooo beautiful. The snow was floating down and had layered itself on the trees like a true living Christmas Card. It was all Kathleen and I could do not to break out into a chorus of 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland.' There was no way I was going to go out last night and take pictures, but I wish I had.
I got up early (8am) this morning to take pictures but the wind had picked up over night and brought slightly warmer temps with it. The snow was no longer fluffy but slushy but still dramatic.

Of course no one in their right mind was up so I was able to walk around town - when not being whipped by the wind - and take some fun pictures. This one is on South st. looking east toward the cathedral.

I think somebody last night had plans to sleep in an igloo if they couldn't make it home from the pub. Looks like the construction was spot on but the turn in the weather weakened the roof and it was toast by this morning. Too bad! Hope they made it home ok.

You can see some of the Christmas lights on the shops. The church to the middle left is Holy Trinity. I'm supposed to be attending a concert by the Edinburgh String Quartet there later today if the weather cooperates.

This is the center of town - Market Street. Granted at 8am on a snowy/slushy Sunday morning it's a bit quiet but you get the idea. Yeah - it's a VERY small town!
On my way back to the dorm the wind kicked in like a mean fright train bringing sleet in its wake. I thought it was better to put the camera away and get indoors. Which is where I am now with the heat on full blast! Have a warm and cuddly Sunday everyone!
Your town is picturesque. Great pictures, but it looks frigid.
